Flu Vaccination Programme 2022/23

Who is eligible to receive a free flu vaccine in 2022/23?

Patients in the following groups, will be offered a free flu vaccine in the GP surgery:

  • Patients aged 65 years and over
  • Patients with long term conditions such as:
  • a heart problem
  • diabetes
  • a learning disability
  • a kidney disease
  • a liver disease
  • COPD
  • Asthma (only if requires continuous or repeated use of inhaled or systematic steroids or previous exacerbations requiring hospital admission)
  • patients with BMI of 40 and above
  • lowered immunity due to disease or treatment
  • Pregnant women
  • Carers
  • Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
  • All children aged 2 and 3 years
  • Frontline health and social care workers
  • The flu vaccination programme has also been extended to patients aged 50 to 64 who are not in a clinically at-risk group

School-aged children and young people will be offered the flu vaccine at school.

Flu clinics at Bridgewater Surgeries

We are running weekday flu clinics at both Bridgewater House and Meriden.

How to book an appointment:

  • You can use the NHS App (please ensure that you are eligible before booking)
  • You can reply to one of our invite texts
  • We also send out texts with a link to book an appointment
  • You can call our reception team
  • Ask a clinician or receptionist to book you an appointment when you are at the surgery
