Social Prescribing Service
What is social prescribing?
The aim of social prescribing is to look at ‘what matters to the individual’ . In doing so it takes a holistic approach to both an individual’s health and wellbeing.
It strives to give individuals more control over their lives and what things are affecting their wellbeing. It is not always the case that a prescription for ‘medication’ or what is viewed as traditional treatments will help to make an individual feel better in themselves but instead, social prescribing may be the answer.
The practice will undertake medical examinations and reports for the following;
Insurance purposes
HGV/PSV licences
Taxi drivers
Sporting activities
These have to be arranged by appointment and there is normally a charge for these services as they fall outside the NHS arrangements. You will be asked to pay a deposit at the time of booking these appointments.
If you would like to request completion of insurance forms, reports or ‘To Whom It May Concern’ letters, please email your request to us on e82013.bridgewatersurgeries@nhs.net You will be asked to make payment before your request is forwarded to the relevant clinician.
Please contact the surgery for charges for non NHS work
