ADHD and Autism

Currently there is a temporary pause in referrals to the local NHS pathway for adult ADHD assessments. If you would like to choose the Right to Choose ( RTC) referral pathway, please go to this website Right to Choose – ADHD UK This will show you a list of available providers, their services and estimated waiting times.

This website also has a screening questionnaire which is helpful to complete to show whether you have features of symptoms of ADHD.

Choose your preferred Right to choose provider and contact us via Anima with your score on your questionnaire and your chosen provider.

If you decide to follow the Right to Choose pathway, please ensure you choose a provider that is authorised to provide NHS prescriptions as unfortunately the surgery is currently not able to take on Shared Care Agreements from RTC providers.

If you approach a provider and they suggest it is quicker if you pay for the assessment, please note any prescriptions after that process will NOT be NHS prescriptions. If you pay for an assessment, it is not the Right to Choose pathway – it’s private.

It would be helpful to put some background in Anima as to how your symptoms are affecting you day to day. We will then get in touch for more information if needed and arrange the referral to your chosen provider. They will get in touch with you directly.

ASRS-(ADHD-Questionnaire)

Please complete an Anima form requesting this – you can choose NHS referral pathway or Right to Choose.

Referrals can be made by school, if your child is not in school or school have not been able to facilitate this then please complete an Anima form requesting this. You will be given information about NHS pathways or Right to Choose pathways.

Parents and carers will need to complete forms about their child’s behaviour and development.

Prescriptions and shared care for ADHD Medication Adults and Children

Please note that unfortunately, we are currently unable to take on prescribing for patients who have been assessed privately or through NHS Right to choose providers even with Shared Care Agreements.

Please be reassured that prescriptions will continue to be provided on NHS prescriptions by the Right to choose provider.

You must have been assessed on Right to Choose to get NHS prescriptions from the provider.

If they suggest it is quicker if you pay for the assessment please note any prescriptions after that process will NOT be NHS prescriptions.

We know waiting can be difficult. Support is available while you wait, including:

  • Parenting courses and advice
  • Behaviour management strategies
  • Local support groups and online resources
